A Close Encounter ©2012 HAB Photography

I was walking around outside on this beautiful day looking for something to take a picture of, and I came across this butterfly. I tentatively moved my camera closer to it, but it did not notice. Rather, it continued to drink from the flower with its proboscis. I was very surprised how this butterfly did not seem bothered when I stuck my camera very close to it. In my opinion, the detail of both the center of the flower and the face of the butterfly are incredible.  If you look carefully, two fuzzy textures are visible in this photograph. The texture of both the underside of the petals on the flower and the butterfly’s face can be clearly seen and are extremely tangible.

When I came across this photo opportunity, I took about thirty pictures that were very similar in nature. After looking through all of them, I chose to share this one with you. I have found that the greater the number of pictures you take, the more likely you are to have one good one. Don’t be afraid to take an overload of pictures, because when you review them later, you will be glad you did. Every time you press the shutter button, you have the opportunity to take a perfect picture. So why not snap a few dozen pictures everyday?
